March has us talking interiors and styling with the lovely Jodie James of Saltwater Home Styling. Jodie’s beautiful coastal aesthetic has us drooling over her insta feed. And it’s no wonder Jodie’s coastal decorating is en pointe. Based on the beautiful Sunshine Coast, there’s no end to the inspiration nature can provide. Jodie and her chippie husband are currently building a beautiful new home @waranabeachhousebuild which promises to be every bit as gorgeous as Jodie’s other work. Let’s see what tips and tricks Jodie has to share.
Style Files 10

On holidays. I love all things holiday. In particular island holidays and the lifestyle.
I use colour to:
Set a mood
Form or Function. Why?:
It’s a compromise sometimes. You need to have a good balance here.
Styling advice I live by:
Always include something a little unexpected and interesting. Invest in things that will last from a quality and fashion point of view.
Top home styling tips:
Mix up your textures and play with scale (go big). It makes things exciting.
Top tips for buying the perfect rug:
My top tip would be to research the size you need for your space. Measure up and make sure you follow the rug size rules. People often buy a rug that is too small.
What is your go to Six Fourteen Rug?:
I love a jute rug. They are so practical. My favourites from Six Fourteen are the Avalon Natural Diamond Braided Jute and the Avalon Natural Diamond Repeat Braided Jute Rug.
