Welcome to the first Styles Files for 2021. This month we have the great pleasure of introducing Libby Winberg. Libby is a powerhouse after our own hearts. Working in interior design for the best part of a decade, Libby’s feed (@libby.winberg) is full of beautiful interiors inspiration. Not only that, it’s full of heart with a good dose of positivity and inspiration for living a more fulfilling life. You see, as a mother of 3 young boys, Libby has created a life she loves and now enjoys helping others in their quest for life balance as a conscious online entrepreneur working with individuals who want to design their lives on their terms. All this whilst still designing homes for clients to provide beautiful and inspiring spaces to be loved and lived in. Like we said – a powerhouse! Here’s what she had to share with us:
My style is:
Modern eclectic with a scandi twist
I find inspiration:
Pretty much everywhere! Nature, magazines and more magazines. I am constantly inspired by the world around me.
I use colour to:
feel good and inject some personality into a space.
Form or Function. Why?:
Function, but I think you can have both. I’m a super practical person and this comes through in the way I approach design. Take joinery for example, it is so functional, but can look so sexy.
Styling advice I live by:
As a designer rather than a stylist, I advise and design for the long term. So not being swayed too strongly by the latest trend but try and go classic, timeless but with wow factor. Invest in what you love and what makes you feel good, not what you think you should have in your home.
Top home styling tips:
Reduce clutter as much as you can, particularly at your front door. This is such a big one for me, your entry needs to be really beautiful. That doesn’t mean you have to go investing in much, but it should be clear of items that are unattractive as this is the first thing people see when they enter your home.
Top tips for buying the perfect rug:
Bigger is always better. It may look big hanging in the showroom but will shrink when placed on the floor with furniture sitting on top of it. Always measure out really carefully before you purchase.
What is your go to Six Fourteen Rug?:
I have the Ballina Multi runner which I’m loving in my hallway. I love the Ballarat Rose and am eying off the Maree Peach at the moment!
