Whoever said rugs were only for living rooms, bedrooms and hallways? With the vast array of sizes and shapes available, we think that keeping your toes toasty this winter is as easy as rugging up your most lived in spaces.
Whether you have a galley kitchen or a large open plan kitchen, adding a nice, soft rug underfoot is an excellent way to warm things up. We know as mums we spend A LOT of time in the kitchen making meals and snacks, baking and then, of course, cleaning up so having something soft underfoot is so much nicer in the cooler weather. On the design front a rug can make a galley kitchen appear wider and can give rise to a plethora of design options. Whether you want to add a boho vibe or a tribal feel there’s a rug to help you build your look. We just suggest sticking to easy clean man made fibres in case there are any spills.
Walk in Robe/Dressing Room
Nothing says luxe like a fully styled dressing room or walk in robe and nothing completes the look like a gorgeous rug. Depending on the size of your space you may go for a runner (or if you’re really lucky you may be able to go for a full size rug – ahhhh dream!!), but if you have hard floors dressing them with a nice rug will only enhance the space.
The Study Nook is the latest and greatest in all new homes – the perfect spot for the kids to do their homework whilst we go about our afternoons and evenings. It’s also the perfect spot to pop a rug underfoot in the cooler weather. A lovely soft rug underfoot and a little insulation from cold floors, not to mention the extra style component, make a study nook rug a must.
Now we wouldn’t recommend putting a rug in just any bathroom, but if you have the space (away from true wet areas) a bathroom rug is heaven. Bathroom floors are notoriously cold and hard so having something soft and cosy underfoot creates that sense of luxe that we all want to have in create in our homes.
Probably the most used room in the house in 2020 (well, apart from the living room) if you have a home office popping a rug on the floor is going to help you feel a little more “Suits” and a little less “The Office”. Spending a little time and effort to make an office space fit your design aesthetic, along with adding small touches that add warmth and make you smile will help to make for a more productive space. And, if you’re feeling stressed you can always follow the old advice from Die Hard and “make fists with your toes”……or not 😉
If there’s a place in your space that’s out of the “norm” that you have added a rug to, let us know! We’d love to hear about it.
